My #1 Fan

Wow, I don't really have the words to describe what I felt about getting this. My first thought was... only a scrapper's son would think to keep this. Then I thought... at some point in his day he was thinking of his Mom. Then, last but certainly not least I thought to myself this is exactly why I scrapbook. It's things like this I never want to forget! This is part of his notes for his Science class, they are learning about trees. He put this up on the refrigerator for me! This is not the first time he has brought something home that he has made and said, "you can put this in your scrapbook Mom". Thank you sweetie for being my #1 fan.

A Busy Week

Wow, sorry for the lapse in blogging! We have been busy bee's around here. The kids are doing great. They are both getting adjusted to the school schedule. They have to be at school by 7:50, so that means we leave by 7:35. It has been an interesting couple of weeks for Brooke. Last week the teacher said she had the ability to write in mirror image. Not much is known about this, but with Brooke 50% of the time she will start writing from the right to left reversing her letters and the word so they are facing the opposite direction. When she was in preschool the teacher said it was common in kids of that age, because they are still in the learning stage of knowing the alphabet etc. Well, Brooke knows her alphabet and can spell many simple words. They have decided to start her on cursive writing, so it will be harder for her to reverse the direction of the letters and words. On Friday she said she wanted to read a book, she sat down and taught herself to read. She is enjoying being able to read, it so fun to see the excitement in her face when she reads a new book!
Well, a couple recent pictures of Billy and Brooke. Love to all!

Scrapbooking and Other fun stuff!

So it is no secret that talking on the phone is not one of Brooke's favorite things to do, she really has to be in the mood, and not to busy doing other things. Well, this is Brooke 35minutes into a conversation with her friend Mayzie. Kinda funny hearing bits of a conversation between two five year olds. When Brooke got off the phone she said Mayzie had to take the call on the other line, she is going to call back. I don't remember calling friends till I was much older!

Yesterday, Billy had his first soccer game of the season, his team has been practicing each week for the last 2 months. Well, his team won three to zero. Billy almost got a couple goals himself, and did a great job! After the game the kid's made homemade ice cream with a little help from Daddy. They made vanilla chocolate chip, and yes I did have a scoop and it was so yummy!

This is a scrapbook page i did for a monthly scrapbook challenge with my scrapbook group. The question is asked, "why do you scrapbook", so this was my page and my reasons
Sorry, the blocks are hard to read, it reads:
i scrapbook ... because i love to create, i love colors, i love patterns, i love playing with stuff! I love creating a layout, i love being inspired.
... because i never want to forget the daily: the things we do what we say, what they said, how i felt, how they felt, what they did how they grew. I feel myself that i could never forget these things. I think they will be with me always, but i know i will lose some of this, some of this i know will fade. There is just so much and so i record the moments, the memories with photos that help explain and describe the moment.
...because i want them to know me and to understand me and the things that are important to me when they look at their scrapbooks in the years to come.
...because i want them to know how much i love them. How everything they do matters to me
...because i love photos, i love to capture smiles and emotions. I love what a photo can say to someone.
Many more reasons, but these are the most important!

The Dancing Princess

Today was Brooke's first Ballet class at The Dancers Pointe.

She will have an hour class once a week. She loved it, and has been dancing and practicing since she got home. She said, "Mommy, I have to practice bending like I have a crown on my head that will fall off". We are able to observe the first class of the month through a window, she looked so cute with her hair in a bun and her little ballet shoes on! I hope you have a great evening!

Dragon Day

On Saturday we took the kid's downtown to the Frazier Arts Museum, they were having a exhibition on dragons. Billy and Brooke enjoyed their education of these legendary creatures and left with all the skills, should they encounter a dragon in the near future!
Hope you all have a great Labor Day.
