Class Routine and Behaviour Rules

This is a picture of the art tray I have as a kitchen center piece on the table. I thought since they are always doing something crafty why not make their supplies easily accessible. Just a serving tray from Target with several assorted plastic cups that are filled with crayons, markers, scissors, paints, etc. Billy and Brooke love to have all this out and ready to use.

I thought some of you might get a kick out of the rules Billy's teacher sends home at the beginning of the school year. To some they may sound extreme, but to Billy it is all he has ever known. They are effective and work, and kids crave structure in their life.

  1. Students must maintain proper posture while seated at desks, with hands on desk and the chair and desk flat on the floor.

  2. Students must raise their hands and wait for permission to speak.

  3. Students must answer in a complete sentences whenever appropriate.

  4. Students must stand at their desks when drilling.

  5. Students must line up in order - ladies first.

  6. Gentlemen will open doors for the ladies.

  7. All tests and star charts must be signed by a parent and returns to the teacher by the next school day. It is the students responsibility to ask Mom and Dad to sign the papers.

  8. Students must address all adults with "Ma'am" and "Sir".

  9. Obey: Right away, All the way, Cheerfully and Every time!

Well, have to go and get them started with homework.
